Reba K. Owenby

Reba K. Owenby, 93 years of age, passed away on October 20, 2023, at her son’s home. Mrs. Owenby was born in Leesburg, FL, on February 11, 1930, to her parents Otha Mack and Mary Hammer (Coulter) Graves. She was a local phone operator for 32 years with Florida Telephone company. Reba enjoyed gardening, crocheting and keeping up with her Leesburg High School reunion group.
Reba is survived by son, Michael (Ruth), Leesburg, FL; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Clyde Owenby, son, Larry Owenby, her parents, brothers, Robert Graves, Raymond Graves, and Floyd Graves.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel from noon to 1pm. A service will be held at 1pm with the burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to be made to Cornerstone Hospice 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778 and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
