A convicted sex offender has reported he’s living in the woods near a storage facility in Leesburg.
Brandon Robert Wessling, 43, who was arrested twice in 2021 for reporting violations, has reported that he is living in the woods near Lakeside Storage on U.S. Hwy. 27 in Leesburg, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
He was convicted of lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim 12 to 15 years old in Hernando County in 2007 and was convicted in 2017 in Pinellas County for failure to comply with sex offender requirements.
In 2021, he was arrested after failing to report a job at a thrift store as well failure to report social media activity and possession of a smart phone. Later that year, he was arrested again after failing to report an address change after he was kicked out of a local hotel.
