A teenager was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a road in south Lake County on Monday evening.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 192 and Town Center Boulevard at around 10 p.m. on Monday, August 28.
The pedestrian, who was from Davenport, was walking in a northerly direction and entered the westbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 192, walking into the direct path of a 2014 Toyota Camry that was traveling westbound on the roadway.
The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 58-year-old Clermont woman, was transported to Four Corners Emergency Room with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
