August J. Frisch, of Leesburg, Florida was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and patriot. He left this world at the age of 91 on August 1, 2023.
August, fondly known as “Augie”, was born to Aloysius Francis and Anna Marie (Grabowski) Frisch, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1932.
He was predeceased by his father, mother, and brother Aloysius John Frisch.
Augie served in the US Army during the Korean War. Prior to deployment overseas, he married the love of his life, Catherine. Augie was a hardworking man who was able to retire comfortably to Florida in 1998 at the age of 65. While Augie didn’t have many hobbies, he did, however, have a passion for sweets, especially cookies.
Augie is survived by his wife Catherine H. (Meyer) of 70 years and four children, Alan (Marce), David (Joanne), Richard, and Janet (David) Santucci. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service and interment, with military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 2:30pm.
