A Leesburg woman and her daughter were arrested a week after they allegedly attacked another woman at a bus stop.

Kimberly Michelle Wright, 44, and Maria Shakala Miller, 22, were charged Friday with battery  in connection with the July 28 incident. Officers responded that day to the parking lot of the Social Security office, 900 N. 14th St., and the victim told them she had been “jumped” by Wright, Miller, and Wright’s juvenile daughter, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

The victim said while she was sitting in the lobby, she noticed a woman she recognized from previous encounters standing near the entry doors. The woman began to make a phone call before leaving the office, the report said.

After the victim finished her business, she walked outside to wait for the bus. While walking to the bus stop, the victim noticed three females, one of them in a white sedan, approaching her from the parking lot. The females – Wright, Miller, and the juvenile – started punching, kicking, and scratching her. They then fled the area in their vehicles, according to the report.

The victim was able to identify Wright and said she was possibly upset over her ex-boyfriend giving the victim a ride. Officers observed fresh abrasions and scratches on the victim’s hands, arms, neck and face, the report said.

Wright was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She and Miller were taken to the Lake County Jail and released after posting their respective $2,000 bonds.
