A Leesburg woman was arrested after she reportedly shoved the father of her child when he threatened to leave her during an argument.

Somiah Lugo, 22, was charged with simple domestic battery after the incident, which happened around 8:37 p.m. at an undisclosed residence in Leesburg.

The victim told an officer that he and Lugo were having a discussion over financial issues that escalated into an argument when he told her he got a new job over an hour away from their residence. The victim said he told Lugo he was going to leave and be with someone who supported him, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

The victim said Lugo approached him and shoved him as he walked by. He said she then turned around and used both hands to push him again. The victim said when Lugo approached him a third time, he extended both arms to keep her away from him. He didn’t have any observable marks from being pushed, the report said.

The officer then spoke with Lugo, who confirmed the argument arose over the victim taking a new job far away. She said she got upset because the victim kept antagonizing her during the argument, so she shoved him. Lugo also admitted to turning around and pushing the victim a second time. She did not have any markings that would indicate she was battered, according to the report.

The Oklahoma native was taken to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
