A Leesburg woman was arrested after she admitted to “kick boxing” a 72-year-old man while she was intoxicated.

Jennifer Leigh Abramo, 43, was charged with aggravated battery of a victim 65 years or older and simple domestic battery in connection with the incident, which happened Friday afternoon at a residence on Timber Ridge Circle. The arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department did not include the nature of the relationship between Abramo and the victim.

An officer responded to the home after a 911 hangup was received around 3 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, he observed Abramo, who appeared to be sleeping by a front window inside the home, according to the report.

Abramo appeared to be slightly intoxicated while she told the officer she called law enforcement after a physical altercation occurred between her and the victim. Her story changed when she was asked to repeat details of the incident, the report said.

Eventually, Abramo said she was in a verbal argument with the victim when he grabbed her. She said when she moved away and he lost his grip, the victim went to grab her again and they both fell onto Abramo’s bed, the report said.

Abramo said after she fell back, she punched and kicked the victim in a “kick boxing” style, causing him to move away from her. Abramo said the victim left the area while she tried to contact law enforcement before falling asleep on her bed, according to the report.

The officer did not observe any physical marks or indicators to suggest Abramo had been battered. In addition, she confirmed she had been consuming alcohol, the report said.

Another officer spoke with the victim, who by this time had gone to the Leesburg police station. He said that after Abramo knocked his hat and sunglasses off, he bear-hugged her to prevent her from striking him before they both fell to the ground, according to the report.

The victim said he continued to hold her in the hopes she would calm down. He said Abramo then bit down on his right tricep. The officer observed a fresh bite mark on the victim’s right arm, as well as another smaller scratch on his left cheek, the report said.

The two officers  conferred and concluded that Abramo was the one to arrest. A criminal history check revealed she has a prior conviction for battery in January 2020, the report said.

Abramo was taken to the Lake County Jail, where bond was set at $20,000.
