A Leesburg man has been sentenced to five days in jail and was ordered to pay $985.50 in fines and court costs as the result of his arrest with drugs in a stolen van.
Myles Grodecki, 35, had been a passenger in a  van which had been reported as stolen. The van was stopped by Lake County sheriff’s deputies on Dec.20, 2021. They saw Grodecki get out of the front passenger seat and walk away. A deputy went to secure Grodecki and saw him throw a baggie to the ground. The baggie contained a substance which field tested as being fentanyl. Grodecki was also in possession of two hypodermic needles.
Grodecki was adjudicated guilty of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He reported to the Lake County Jail on June 29. He received credit for one day time served.
The van which had been reported as stolen was driven by 37 year-old- Angel Daugherty. Charges were dropped against Daugherty on Feb.17, 2022.
