Ted Thomas Byrd, 86, Okahumpka, Florida went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2023 with her loving daughter by her side in Okahumpka, Florida. Mrs. Byrd was born on August 8, 1936 in Orlando, Florida to her parents Brantley Thomas and Elizabeth (Tidwell) Thomas.
Mrs. Byrd moved to Leesburg from Ocoee, Florida in 2000. She attended college and received her bachelor’s degree in education and had worked as a teacher prior to her marriage to Mr. Richard Gilbert Byrd, Sr. After getting married she and her husband owned Fox Point Farms in Leesburg, Florida, where she worked helping her husband operate their business. She was of the Baptist faith and formerly attended First Baptist Church in Dade City, Florida.
She is survived by her Children: a daughter: Catherine Byrd Casey and her husband Charles Casey of Okahumpka, FL; two sons: Richard Gilbert Byrd, Jr. of Orlando, FL and Albert Frederick Byrd of Manassas, VA; two loving grandsons: Samuel Casey and Stewart Byrd and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Richard Gilbert Byrd, Sr. and a beloved brother, Denny Thomas.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at a later date at Dade City Cemetery in Dade City.
