Clarence F. Turk, 96, of Leesburg passed peacefully on April 26, 2023.

Turk, as he was known by, was born in Cleveland, Ohio July 17, 1926. He entered the Navy June 1944 and retired as Master Chief Radioman in October, 1967. He moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1969 following the death of his first wife, Elaine (Hornbrook) where he worked as a Special Officer for Hollywood Police Department. This is where he met and married his second wife June in 1970.

The family moved to Leesburg in 1979 where he was employed as a Jailer for the Leesburg Police Department. He transferred to the Recreation Department 1981, to run the Leesburg Community Building and retired in 1992.

He was an actor, and Lifetime Board Member, at the Melon Patch Players since 1986. He volunteered at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg Police Department, Supervisor of Elections and Retired Military Activity Service. He was also volunteer Mediator for Lake County Judicial System.

He was preceded in death by his wife June and is survived by his 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
