Barbara Faye Steffel, 82, was called Home on April 20th, 2023 while in Leesburg FL. She spent her final days with loved ones and new-found friends, as she touched many lives and left a memorable impression. She was born in Cub Run KY, 9-11-1940, graduated High School at Arsenal Tech and spent most of her life in Indianapolis, IN until moving to Florida May 2017, to enjoy sunshine and a retirement lifestyle.

She held many positions of influence in the Banking Industry & Endowment Foundations and was an Executive Assistant to high- ranking professionals. She was known for her incredible organizational skills, attention to detail, tenacity, and drive to accept nothing less than perfection. She made people’s lives much easier, always did things with pride, and was always willing to help another succeed.

Barbara was a shy person on the inside, but she never let that show. She had wit, an amazing smile, and a belly-laugh (with snorting) if you were lucky enough to experience, would touch your soul. She was an avid gardener, loving to dig in the dirt (earth), who took tremendous pride in having a beautiful home. Non-stop decorating made her happy, as well as being able to have people over to prepare a dinner of sorts and share her home- as she was an amazing cook. Playing cards, sewing, puzzles and spending time Antique Shopping with her friends, finding a wonderful piece at a bargain price was how she joyfully spent her free time.

She had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances developed over all the years in Indiana and Florida and everyone who met her found fondness for her unique personality and flare. In her final years in Independent Living and Assisted Living, she brought color, dignity, and a bright light to places. She will not be easily forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori L Michaels and her son, David R Webb. There is no funeral service. Cremation will take place at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, FL and she will have a niche at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis IN (Columbarium).
