Carl Lee Hendrix Jr., 80 died surrounded by loved ones on January 10th, 2023 at his Leesburg, FL home. He was the son of Carl Lee Hendrix Sr. and Mildred Hall Hendrix.
Carl graduated from Terre Haute Gerstmeyer High School in 1960. He attended Indiana State University.
Carl was married to Pamela Lang Hendrix for 37 years. He was a founding member of the Honey Creek Volunteer Fire Fighters. He was a member of The Terre Haute Corvette Club. He was involved with his church and community volunteering where he resided. He was always adventurous, and traveled the United States and abroad often.
Carl’s computer skills advanced his career working at Lovelace Trucking, CBS Records, Britt Airways, L & L Oil and Mincron retiring in 2005. In retirement he was an elder of Lake Eustis Christian Church serving as treasurer for 12 years.
Carl was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Curt, Michael, and Greg Hendrix. He is survived by his wife Pam; his children Kim Sappington (Steve) Terre Haute, IN; Scott Hendrix Newburgh, IN; Trisha Washington (Troy), Avon IN; Grandkids, Dru Sappington (Leah Beth), Luke Sappington (Sydney Atkinson), Emma Sappington (Eli Tracy),Abby Hendrix, Adam Hendrix, and Grant Washington. Survived by his Mother-in-law Esther Lang and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Steve and Georgia Davis for their help, love, and kindness during his brief illness.
A service of remembrance will be held at 3 pm Saturday January 21, 2023 at Lake Eustis Christian Church 315 East Orange Ave. Eustis, FL. 32726. Officiating the service will be Pastor Brent Elliott. A meal will follow immediately after the service.
In Lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Carl in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Lake Eustis Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
