Rasik Patel of Tavares, Florida and previously of Farmington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Waterman Hospital from Covid complications on July 14, 2022.
Born on July 3, 1933 in Nadiad, India to Hirabhai and Chanchelben Patel, he is survived by his loving wife Aruna of Tavares, FL; daughter Sangita, Burlington, MA; son Sunit, Montville, NJ; daughter Amee, Cumming, GA; 7 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ranjan, and loving sister Vimlaben. An Engineer by education and occupation, he was also an accomplished Kathak dancer who had a great love of children, sports, dance, and music. He had numerous hobbies and volunteered in many places including at temple, Habitat for Humanity, food banks, local hospitals and other venues. In addition, he enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and “ping pong”.
He came from India to the US in 1965 and lived in NY, NJ, and CT, before moving to FL in 2011. Rasik had a very kind and generous soul, he was always eager to help others. Bringing a smile to others, and seeing them happy, was a priority for him.
A funeral followed by cremation (family only) will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 2:00 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Rasik’s name to The American Stroke Association.
