Joseph E. Davenport, 87, of Weirsdale, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022.

Born in Leesburg, Florida, he attended Weirsdale public schools before moving to Miami his senior year of high school. Joe worked for various law enforcement agencies, including Cape Canaveral Police Department, the Florida Highway Patrol, Eustis Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Following his career in law enforcement, he spent the next 18 years as a long haul trucker. Joe moved his family back to the Eustis area in 1970. Joe coached both Little League Baseball & Football in Eustis. He was an avid fisherman, stamp collector and was a member of LifePointe Church, Eustis.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth K. Davenport, Weirsdale, FL; 3 sons, Wayne Edward (Debra) Davenport, Tavares, FL, Joseph William Davenport, Weirsdale, FL, John Michael Davenport, Umatilla, FL; daughter, Deborah Ann (David) Williams, Lady Lake, FL; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at LifePointe Church, Eustis on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Weirsdale.
