James Larry Bethel Sr., 74, of Tavares, FL, passed away on July 2, 2022.
He was born in Ravenna, OH, on August 9, 1947, to his parents: James William Bethel and Cleda Sara (Tanner) Bethel, he was the oldest of seven children. James served in the United States Army where he was a combat medic and paratrooper serving two tours in the Vietnam war from 1964-1970. He also raced stock cars at Painesville Speedway and worked in the construction industry.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Sara J. Bethel; daughter: Joan (Bethel)Clayton, son: James “Jim” Bethel Jr. grandchildren: Kristen Bethel, Jimmy Bethel III, Chelsea Holmes, Troy Liukkonen, Victoria Bethel, Alyssa Christison, Jimmy Derrick, Brandon Neighman, Austin Clayton and two great grandchildren: Brantley Holmes and Kennedy Holmes.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11::00 AM July 23rd at Lakeside Memory Gardens 36601 County Rd 19A, Eustis, Fl 32726.
