Carol Jean Hunt, 82, Leesburg, Florida passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022 at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida. Jean was born on August 5, 1939 to her parents George Thruman and Harriet (Popanz) Thruman in Freeport, Illinois.
Jean was a long-time resident of Leesburg, Florida and formerly of Brevard County where she was a Brevard County School Bus Driver with many years of devoted service. Jean was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Leesburg, Florida. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Am Vets and Eagles Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and the Florida lottery. She loved flowers and gardening.
Jean was preceded in death by both of her parents and two of her children Geraldine Schlamp and Steven Basile.
Jean is survived by her daughters: RaeAnn Winn, Lareen Schlamp and Margie (Bill) Norwood; two Sisters: Margaret Neber and Georgia Baker; her beloved grandchildren: Angela (John) Wrobel, Stephanie (Tommie) Peebles, Samantha (Erik) Elledge, Diane Spokish, Wesley (Nicole) Smith, Yvonne Pulliam; 11 great-grandchildren: Makenna (Michael) Crowe, Gracie Peebles, Skylar Elledge, Bryce Smith, Dylan Wrenn, Leah Wrobel, Eden Wrobel, Mathew Smith, Leticia Velasco-Martinez, Mateo Velasco-Martinez, Aaliyah Velasco-Martinez; 1 great-great grandchild Tanner Crowe.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on July 31, 2022 @ 2pm in the Clubhouse at Highland Lakes, 5500 Clubhouse Dr., Leesburg, FL 34748.
