Pregnant Leesburg woman allegedly attacked by jealous girlfriend

A jealousy-fueled confrontation resulted in the arrest of woman who allegedly attacked her romantic rival, who is pregnant.

Brittany Hollis 33, of Winter Haven was at a home on Huggins Street in Leesburg when the pregnant woman arrived Sunday evening to pick up her children, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Hollis punched and knocked the pregnant woman to the ground.

The man who is the focus of the women’s affections had to break up the fracas, the report said. The pregnant woman was able to get away and call 911.

Ring doorbell surveillance verified the pregnant woman’s version of events.

It was the first meeting between the women, the report noted.

Hollis was taken into custody and was booked at the Lake County Jail on the second degree felony of aggravated battery to a pregnant victim. She was released after posting $5,000 bond.
