A Leesburg mother who was arrested last month is facing a raft of new charges.

Officers received a tip that 29-year-old Destinee Keen was dealing drugs at the Microtel at 9700 U.S. Hwy. 441 and that Keen had outstanding Lake County arrest warrants. The motel manager provided the police with a pass key to her room, according to the arrest report.

When the officers knocked on the door on Dec. 23, she opened it, revealing that she was alone in the room with a minor child.

Officers found digital scales, containers of marijuana, methamphetamine, and marijuana candies with methamphetamine centers.

Keen was booked into the Lake County Jail on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also charged with child neglect as the child was in a room with dangerous drugs while Keen unable to provide care for the child due to her drug use. Bond was set at $80,000.

While in jail she was rearrested on warrants alleging she had violated her probation for previous convictions for possession of heroin and possession of methamphetamine. She had been sentenced to three years probation on those charges. Her bond remains set at $80,000. Her next court date on the probation violation charges is Jan. 18 in front of Judge James Baxley
