Boyfriend jailed after woman seeks treatment for injuries at ER

A boyfriend was arrested on a battery charge after a woman sought treatment for injuries at the emergency room at UF Health Leesburg Hospital.

The woman said she had been traveling in a vehicle with 34-year-old Marc Jan Ilel Lundi at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when they began to argue about money and bills, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He swung at her and struck her in the face.

The vehicle was in the vicinity of the hospital and and the woman asked Lundi to take her to the ER. He refused and drove to their home. When they arrived home, she changed clothes and drove herself to the ER. An examination revealed that her nose and upper jaw appeared to be fractured.

Police went to Lundi’s home at 201 Fern Court and took him into custody on a charge of felony battery. He has two previous battery arrests. He was booked without bond at the Lake County Jail.
