2 airlifted to trauma center after being ejected from single-vehicle crash in Leesburg

Two people were seriously injured Friday night when they were ejected from a vehicle during a rollover crash in Leesburg.

Multiple crews from Leesburg Fire Rescue and officers from the Leesburg Police Department responded to a crash Friday night near the RaceTrac gas station at 2115 U.S. Hwy. 441.

The incident took place in the area of the RaceTrac gas station at 2115 U.S. Hwy. 441. Leesburg Fire Rescue’s Engine 61 was the first to arrive and its crew found the vehicle on its side, a report states.

Both patients were determined to be trauma alerts and both were airlifted to area trauma centers. The crash scene was then turned over to troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol and officers from the Leesburg Police Department, the report says.
