A Leesburg man who was out of jail on bond found himself back behind bars Wednesday on charges of possessing material showing child sexual abuse.
Agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team served a search warrant at 46-year-old Simeon Sharif Fountain’s home, located at 7725 Sloewood Drive. Fountain was out of jail on a $100,000 bond from a 2020 arrest for online sexual solicitation of an 8-year-old child in North Carolina, a report states.
The investigation began with a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding an Internet user uploading child sexual abuse material. Agents from the FDLE Orlando Regional Operations Center Cybercrime Task Force executed the search warrant and Fountain was arrested a short time later.
Fountain was charged with six counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials. He was released Thursday on $150,000 bond and is due in court March 1 at 8:30 a.m., jail records show.
Additional charges against Fountain are dependent upon completion of forensics exams. The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 5th Judicial Circuit, the report states.
