School resource officers from the Leesburg Police Department will be riding in style while tackling the issue of bullying.
Officers unveiled two newly redesigned patrol vehicles Monday at Leesburg Elementary and Beverly Shores Elementary that tackle the subject of bullying head-on. The resource officers at the schools will be assigned to the vivid blue and hot pink Dodge Chargers that convey the anti-bullying message, “Be A Buddy Not A Bully” to students.
The moto was created by the Pledge Against Bullying Group, founded in Leesburg as part of the Noon Rotary Interact Club. The vehicles are intended to engage students with a sense of school pride while opening dialogues about bullying and other important issues concerning them, Leesburg Police officials say.
The funds for the school-spirited wraps on the patrol vehicles were donated by Hunter Signs and Electrical Works.
