Lake County honored with three prestigious public relations awards

The Office of Communications received an Award of Distinction and a Judges’ Award for the 2019 “Rescue Me” Charity Calendar, and also received an Award of Distinction for Lake County’s 2018 State of The County video, “A Spirit of Service.”

The 2019 “Rescue Me” charity calendar was designed, created and promoted by the Office of Communications. The images of Lake County firefighters holding the cute and cuddly shelter pets captured the hearts of the public, resulting in the calendars selling out within weeks and raising $4,500 for the Lake County Animal Shelter.

Lake County’s State of the County address was presented through a video format, uniquely capturing the wide range of accomplishments that were reached during the year. It highlighted the achievements of the Board of County Commissioners, such as budget efficiencies, public safety improvements, economic development and tourism initiatives.

The Lake County Office of Communications took home three awards from the 2019 Mid Florida Local Image Awards ceremony in Ocala this past Wednesday.

“I am so proud of our team of public relations professionals for continuing to find innovative and efficient solutions to engage the public and promote the county’s many wonderful services,” said Elisha Pappacoda, director of the Office of Communications.

The Lake County Office of Communications is an in-house, full service creative agency responsible for enhancing, developing and promoting the Lake County brand across multiple platforms. This is accomplished through web programming, multimedia development, public relations, media outreach, social media management, graphic design and print production.
