Woman on the run in Food Stamp fraud case nabbed by Lady Lake police

Lanette Jackson

A woman on the run in a Food Stamp fraud case was nabbed by Lady Lake police.

Lanette Danielle Jackson, 38, of Leesburg, had been traveling in a car driven by her husband at 7:40 p.m. Dec. 7 when it was pulled over at the Sunoco station on U.S. Hwy. 27/441, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He did not have a valid driver’s license, so Jackson showed police her driver’s license so she could take control of the vehicle.

A check of her license revealed she was wanted on a warrant charging her with failure to appear on a charge of welfare and Food Stamp fraud. The Lake County warrant had been issued in April.

Jackson is charged with collecting $3,180 in Food Stamps and $1,304 in Medicaid benefits in 2015 and 2016 while she was employed at Lifestream Behavioral Center Inc. She claimed she had no income at that time.

Jackson was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.
