James Vollmer Hazlett III

James (Sandy) Vollmer Hazlett lll, 72, of Leesburg, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 15, 2023. He was born on February 20, 1951 in Germantown Pennsylvania, to James and Helen Hazlett. Sandy attended St Andrew’s School, Delaware and went on to graduate from Spring Garden College Pennsylvania in engineering. He served 6 years in the United States Navy.

Sandy spent most of his life career as a hydraulic engineer. His work took him to many parts of the world including Singapore where he met Kim, the love of his life. They married on September 6, 2004 in Washington and moved to Florida in 2014. He loved sailing, fishing, shooting and was passionate about cars, building two Hot Rods for Kim and himself.
Sandy is survived by his loving wife Kim, devoted mother Helen, stepsons Glenn and Keith, and three step grandchildren Scott, Ryan and Clare. Sandy is preceded in death by his father James Vollmer Hazlett II.

In place of flowers the family requests charitable donations be made in the name of James Hazlett.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28 at Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 914 West Main Street, Leesburg, FL 34748.
