Gwendolyn E. New, age 89, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 while under the care of Cornerstone Hospice.
She was born on November 21, 1934 in Fort Madison, Iowa, to the late Charles Hymes and Hillis Martin.
Gwen retired to Leesburg, Florida in 1989 with her loving husband George. They enjoyed taking their annual trips to Iowa together to visit with family. Other hobbies included fishing, going to the casino, and playing bingo.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Mason (Jeff), and Marcine Onsted (Jeff); son, Craig Scotton; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte, Marcy, and Diana; brother, Jerry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George M. New; her parents, several brothers and sisters.
Gwen will be interred privately to be with her husband at a cemetery in Florida.
