Mitchell Gordan Keeling, 91, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

Born in Willisburg, Kentucky to the late Ray and Anna Keeling, he moved to Mount Dora in 1988 from Louisville, Kentucky. He was a member of Hometown Baptist Church, Leesburg. Mitch served in the US Air Force during Korea working in the Strategic Air Command as a jet propulsion mechanic. Mitch worked in the shipping and receiving department in the tobacco industry with Brown & Williamson prior to his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, Former Assistant Boy Scout Leader, Little League Coach, Hospice volunteer, and a volunteer Firefighter with the Shepherdsville KY Fire Department. Mitch was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing and hunting. He was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed making toys for his grandchildren. Mitch was 51 years sober with AA and the support of his family.

He is survived by the love of his life of 65 years Betty Lee (Huber) Keeling, Mount Dora, FL; 2 sons, Mickey (Cheryl) Keeling, Louisville, KY, Dan (Gail) Keeling, Leesburg, FL; daughter, Annamaria (Walt) Linton, Leesburg, FL; sister, Sandra Parker, Orange Park, FL; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and a slew of nieces, nephews and friends. Mitch was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy; and 2 sisters, Virginia Wilkerson, Linda Malone.

Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Military interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday June 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 12502 Pine Drive, North Tampa, FL 33612.
