Motorcyclist dies after overnight traffic crash in Leesburg

 A 41-year-old motorcyclist has died after colliding with a sport utility vehicle Sunday night in Leesburg.

Rodney Balderas of Crystal River at about 8 p.m. was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson west at State Road 44 and Euclid Street when he collided with a black 2016 Kia SUV driving by 73-year-old John O’Steen of Leesburg, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Balderas was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died from injuries suffered in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information regarding the crash is encouraged to contact the Leesburg Police Department Traffic Unit at (352) 787-2121.
