An 80-year-old Fruitland Park woman was arrested and charged with battery after striking her significant other with a pillow in front of a police officer.

The officer responded to a trespassing complaint at 402 Sunny Court around 12:35 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

Upon the his arrival, the officer met Ginger Meggan Richardson and the male victim. Richardson said she wanted the victim trespassed from the residence. However, due to prior interactions with the couple, the officer knew Richardson and the victim were in a relationship and had been living together for about three years.

While the officer explained to Richardson that the victim would have to be evicted in order to trespass him, he watched her take a pillow and strike the victim with it, the report said.

Richardson was then placed into custody and taken to the Lake County Jail, where she was released after posting $1,000 bond.
