A Leesburg woman has been sentenced to 15 days in the Lake County Jail for a drunk driving charge after her probation was revoked for non-compliance.

Samantha Marie Lacey, 30, failed to complete an alcohol evaluation and did not show up for court ordered community service. She also neglected to pay fines and court costs.

The Missouri native was arrested on the evening of June 23, 2021 when a Leesburg police officer observed her driving a car northbound on Citrus Boulevard at a speed in excess of 70 miles per hour. The officer caught up with Lacey as she entered Fruitland Park. A traffic stop was conducted as she turned into the Legends Cafe at 3430 U.S. Hwy. 27/441.

The officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. Lacey was arrested after she performed poorly in standardized field sobriety exercises. She provided two breath samples at the Leesburg Police Station which showed a blood alcohol level of .186 on the first sample and .192 on second sample.
