A Mexican teen without a driver’s license was arrested on a drunk driving charge in Leesburg.

Officers were dispatched early Monday morning to the Marathon gas station at 1404 Citrus Blvd. regarding a suspicious vehicle. When the officers arrived at the gas station, they observed a vehicle with no lights creeping forward and then stopping before ultimately stopping behind the station, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

The driver, later identified by his Mexican passport as 19-year-old Guillermo Correa-Contresas opened the vehicle’s door and sat in the car for a minute before looking at the officers. When the officer spoke with the driver he was incoherent and reeked of alcohol.

He performed poorly in standardized field sobriety exercises. An empty Modelo beer can was found under the driver’s seat. A records check revealed that he has never had a driver’s license issued in the United States.

He provided two breath samples which showed his alcohol blood level to be .248 for one sample and .250 for the other.

He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and  driving without a driver’s license. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $1,500 bond.
