Motorcyclist killed and Good Samaritan seriously injured in crash in Leesburg

A motorcyclist was killed and a Good Samaritan was seriously injured in a crash Saturday night in Leesburg.

A 57-year-old Leesburg man was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson Street Glide at 10:27 p.m. Saturday northbound on County Road 473 south of California Street when he collided with a pickup driven by a 59-year-old Leesburg man who was making a left turn into a gas station and pulled into the path of the motorcyclist, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle in the collision.

A 51-year-old Leesburg woman stopped her vehicle and got out to help the motorcyclist.

A 30-year-old Leesburg woman driving a 2002 Buick Century northbound on County Road 473 hit the motorcycle and pushed it into the Good Samaritan and the injured motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The Good Samaritan was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
