Gilbert Wayne Borders, 62, of Leesburg, FL passed away peacefully at U.F. Health Leesburg on September 27, 2022. Gilbert was born on July 23, 1960 in Danville, IL to his loving parents; James Roy and Janice (Hollen) Borders.
Gilbert was a good hearted man who would do anything to help anybody. He loved working as a truck driver, which he did for many years. In his free time, Gilbert loved to fish and was also described as being a “free bird” who enjoyed traveling all around the country.
Gilbert and his wife Gwendolyn L. Borders were together for over 20 loving years until her passing about 3 years ago. Gilbert will be remembered for always living his life the way that he wanted. He was a devoted father and husband, loved to laugh, and had a heart of gold. He will be missed dearly by many.
Gilbert is survived by two daughters: Kasie and Lisa, two brothers: James and David, and one sister: Cathy Uden. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Katie, Joseph, Dylan, and Colton, as well as a loving partner, Lynn Marshall.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his beloved parents and wife Gwendolyn.
