Snapchat posts lead to Tavares High School student’s arrest

Posts to the Snapchat social media site led to a Tavares High School student’s arrest.

Tavares High School administrators discovered several posts on the Snapchat platform threatening harm to people at the school, according to an arrest report.

When the 16-year-old student was questioned Monday by the Lake County deputy who is the school resource officer he admitted that he had posted, “If you go to THS jus know I didn’t give up I’m coming back nd when someone Fuels the fire I won’t just sit there your gonna end up with Ur brains out on the school campus and ur momma pleading with doctors to keep you alive”, followed by a post which said “Yk who you are and I”m coming after u.”

The teen was charged with electronic threats to kill and was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
