Donald Hatto

Donald Hatto passed away June 24, 2022.

He was born in Sayre, PA, on Oct. 17, 1935. His family then moved to Michigan. Donald graduated from Trenton High School in 1953. Later that year, he went into the US Navy, serving as a Machinist’s Mate on the Ticonderoga, an aircraft carrier, where he served for 3 years. Soon afterward, he earned his BS degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Donald and Janice (Taylor) were married in 1963.

Don worked as a civil engineer at the City of Ann Arbor for many years, as well as at other engineering firms in both Michigan and Florida, until his retirement in 2005.

Don accepted Christ as his Savior in 1951. In gratitude to his Savior, he served in his home church in a variety of ways, including as a deacon, trustee, and organist, for over 60 years.

Don and Jan have two daughters (both married), as well as two children in heaven. They also have four living grandchildren and one in heaven, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Don is survived by one sister and one brother.

Don had a great love for his Lord and Savior and for his family. He enjoyed traveling, as well as playing a variety of musical instruments.
