Mardi Kennington Burleson, age 57, died peacefully on May 18, 2022 in Leesburg, Florida surrounded by an intimate group of family and friends.

Mardi was a 1983 graduate of Eustis High School. She studied at Daytona State College and earned her cosmetology certificate from the International Academy of Hair Design in South Daytona.

Mardi was a gifted beauty professional, most recently cutting hair from her home in Leesburg. She was also a one-time salon owner, running The Sassy Myrtle Salon and Day Spa in Flagler Beach, alongside her sister.

A dear friend to all who knew and loved her, she enjoyed playing backgammon online, had a passion for animals, and loved the Florida coast, specifically Ormond Beach. In her youth she was a talented baton twirler and majorette at EHS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Kennington and Earla Bonsal, stepfather George Bonsal, her sister Tracy Kennington Hastings, and her husband, Bobby Burleson. She is survived by her niece, Lindsey Norris, stepbrothers Darren Bonsal and Michael Bonsal, and her beloved Boston Terrier, Sky.

Plans for a Celebration of Life are forthcoming.
