A Leesburg man was arrested late Monday night after allegedly using a baseball bat to break another man’s arm.

A Leesburg police detective had been searching for the suspect since Dec. 13 when the attack had been reported. The victim told police that a man with the street name “Hollywood Swag” had attacked him with a baseball bat, shattering his right arm and fracturing several ribs. Swag also threatened to get a gun and kill the victim, according to the police report. When the victim contacted the detective and told him that Hollywood Swag may be legally known as 39-year-old Rodney Lamar Woods, the detective prepared a photo lineup. The victim was able to identify Hollywood Swag as Woods.

Police officers asked for a high bond when they arrested Woods on a charge of aggravated battery with great bodily harm. An affidavit of probable cause filed by the detective stated that Woods had been charged with 47 felonies (34 convictions) and 21 misdemeanors (16 convictions) in the past 22 years.

Woods was booked at the Lake County Jail on $50,000 bond. He posted bond within hours of his arrest.
