Illinois man arrested in alleged attack on patient at facility in Leesburg

An Illinois man was arrested after allegedly attacking a fellow patient at a facility in Leesburg.

Dakota J. Harris, 23, of Carbondale, Ill. was in a group discussion Wednesday at a Lifestream treatment facility when he approached another man and and said he wanted to fight him according to a Leesburg Police Department arrest report. Harris then charged the man and tackled him. The victim was able to strike Harris once before the counselors pulled Harris off him. The counselors put the victim and Harris in separate rooms before the police arrived at the Webster Street facility. When the police arrived, Harris tried to get into the room where the victim had been placed by staff. The officer had to pull Harris away from the room.

Harris was charged with battery and was transported to the Lake County Jail where bond was set at $2,000.
