Willetta Roine Monroe (89) of Tavares, FL passed away on December 28, 2021. She was born February 25, 1932 in Fort Collins, CO to William and Georgia Newport. She had 3 brothers, 2 predeceasing her.
Willetta is survived by her husband of 72 years, Ronald Monroe; her children, Kenneth (Frances) Monroe of Shellman, GA, Norman (Carol) Monroe of Winter Park, FL and Anita (David) heaner of Peachtree Corners, GA. She was also blessed with her grandchildren Kaylynn (Brad) Henderson, David Heaner Jr. and Canada Heaner; and her great grandchildren Collins and Remy.
Willetta and Ron lived all over the country, before moving to Winter Park from California in 1969. Later, she graduated from Orange Memorial Hospital in Orlando as a registered nurse. After retirement, they enjoyed their Umatilla home for 22 years, and were active members of the Umatilla Kiwanis and Garden Club. Ron and Willetta did extensive traveling, including a round the world cruise in 2016. Willetta loved gardening, animals, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, generous, happy and kind.
Willetta was buried in a graveside service at the Umatilla Annex Cemetery, Umatilla.
