A Lady Lake man was arrested after allegedly waving a knife and threatening people in a Leesburg neighborhood.

Officers responded early Saturday night to the Mike Street neighborhood when dispatch received calls that a man with a knife was threatening area residents.

The officers found a man who was identified as 42-year-old Tommy Zenker, who had a 2-inch Klein pocket knife, which was found in his back pocket, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Zenker, who was arrested in November during a drunken outburst at a restaurant in The Villages, appeared to be intoxicated, according to witnesses in the Leesburg neighborhood. A woman said that he was screaming obscenities at her. When she told him that she was calling law enforcement he started to leave but immediately turned around and came at her brandishing a knife. Two other people also told the officers that they had seen the man come at the woman with a knife in his hand.

Zenker was placed under arrest for the third degree felony of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. After processing at the Leesburg Police Department, Zenker was booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
