John Richard Achenbach, 86, of Lebanon, Pa, passed away peacefully on Nov,18th, 2021 in Leesburg, Fl. John will be laid to rest at Bushnell National cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. John was born in Cornwall, Pa to John and Irene (Solie) Achenbach on Sept 28th,1935. He married Yvonne (Stoner)Achenbach on May 26th,1956 in Lebanon, Pa. He went to Harding Jr High in Lebanon, Pa and could often be heard telling stories of his time on the football field there. He worked as a Salesman for Lance crackers for 20 plus years and was fondly known as “The Lance man” to many. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served proudly in the Navy on the USS Columbus. John was an avid Penn State football fan as well as an accomplished billiards player. He was a 5-time Lebanon County billiards champion and after retiring to Leesburg, Florida in 2008 he competed in the Florida State Senior Games billiards division winning 6 gold metals. John spent his retirement years doing the things he loved, spending time with family, traveling, playing billiards, and watching Penn State football. He will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him…. John is preceded in death by his parents John and Irene Achenbach, brother Robert Achenbach and Sister Marion Kerkeslager.

John is survived by his wife Yvonne, son David and wife Linda, his daughter Sharon Beaver and husband Kevin, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
