Lake County truck driver involved in fatal crash on Interstate 4

A Lake County truck driver was involved in a fatal crash late Friday night on Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County.

The 51-year-old Grand Island man was driving a semi tractor trailer at 11:41 p.m. westbound near Mile Marker 10 when he changed lanes and drove into the path of a car driven by a 31-year-old Seffner man, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The car, which had also been westbound, struck the back of the trailer.

The car overturned and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The crash closed portions of westbound I-4 until 4:38 a.m.
