Margaret E. Blake (88) of Leesburg, FL passed away at the Edgewater Health and Rehabilitation Center at Waterman in Mt. Dora, FL on July 11, 2021. She was born July 16, 1932 in Polk City, FL.

Margaret is survived by her children, Ronald E. Hyatt of Fruitland Park, FL, Janice Williams of Leesburg, FL and Linda Durham (Kevin) of Leesburg, FL. She was also blessed with her grandchildren, Tina Burd, Christopher Hughes, Ronald Hyatt Jr., Michelle Perry, Kristen Burns and Nicholas Hyatt along with 10 great grandchildren and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Israel and Dolly Gaffney Stewart; her son, Donald E. Hyatt; and 8 loving siblings.

Margaret did the honorable work of being a homemaker. She loved children and babies, but not just her own. She adopted many a child, earning many different aliases. She was known mostly as “Memaw,” but also “Marguerita,” “Mommy Margaret” and “Little Memaw.” She loved getting together with family and friends and, in her day, was a fabulous cook, providing meals and snacks to all who would come around. She was truly a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

There will be a celebration of Margaret’s life on Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 AM at the Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St. in Leesburg, FL. A burial will follow immediately after at the Shiloh Cemetery in Fruitland Park, FL.
