A pair of twin brothers from Leesburg were arrested two weeks after they reportedly attacked and stabbed a man who gave their sister a flower.

Julius Tyron Marshall and Julian Kyron Marshall, both age 34 and living at 2118 Tyron Court, were charged May 23 with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after the incident, which happened outside their home on May 8.

A Leesburg Police officer responded that afternoon to UF Health Leesburg Hospital, 600 E. Dixie Ave., where the victim was brought with multiple stab wounds to his arms, upper torso and head. The victim told the officer that Julius and Julian attacked him, according to the police report.

The victim said he arrived at the brothers’ residence at around noon to bring flowers to his girlfriend’s mother for Mother’s Day. While there, he also gave a flower to the brothers’ sister as a nice gesture. The victim said Julius and Julian did not approve and they attacked him in the front yard, the report said.

The victim could not identify which brother stabbed him or what he was stabbed with. He said he didn’t realize he was stabbed until after the confrontation was over, when he went to the nail/tanning salon where his girlfriend works. The victim said his girlfriend realized the severity of his wounds and took him to the hospital, according to the report.

The victim had more than seven stab wounds, including three to his back, one in his chest, one behind his right ear, a long slice from his right ear along his right cheek, and several to his arms and wrist areas. Doctors at the hospital said one of the wounds sliced the victim’s liver and he needed to be taken to Shands Hospital in Orlando for further treatment, the report said.

Other officers went to the incident location to see if there were any witnesses or evidence. As soon as they arrived, everyone walked away and nobody would speak with them about the incident. They spoke with a woman through the door at the incident location, but she was uncooperative, according to the report.

The victim was able to identify Julius and Julian because he has known them for a while. The victim’s girlfriend has a child in common with Julian, the report said.

A warrant was issued for the brothers and they were arrested May 23 in Tavares. They were taken to the Lake County Jail, where they were each released on $10,000 bond. Julius and Julian will appear in Lake County Court on March 21.
