A Leesburg man with a history of driving without a license was arrested for it again over the weekend after he was pulled over in Ocala for not having a license tag on the trailer he was pulling.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday, a Marion County sheriff’s deputy observed a silver Chevrolet pickup traveling east in the 7800 block of SW Highway 484 towing a small trailer that did not display a tag. The deputy pulled over the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Stephen Lee Mrosko, 64, of 1708 Indian Trail.
Mrosko told the deputy he didn’t have a Florida driver’s license and provided a Florida identification card. A teletype search showed Mrosko’s license is suspended for multiple reasons, including refusal to submit to a breath, blood or urine test in September 2004 and DUI in October 2004 and March 2005, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Mrosko’s license was canceled indefinitely on Nov. 26, 2020. He also has two prior conviction for driving with a suspended license in Illinois in 1980, the report said.
Mrosko was charged with driving with a suspended license (third or subsequent offense) and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he remained Tuesday on $15,000 bond. Mrosko will answer to the charge in Marion County Court on June 8.
