Leesburg Police share tips to help area residents avoid catalytic converter thefts

The Leesburg Police Department is warning area residents about an uptick in catalytic converter thefts.

Officers say catalytic converters are vulnerable to theft due to the materials contained within them. Thieves are aware of this and know they can sell them as scrap metal in order to make a profit.
