Lake County sheriff searching for vehicle used in shooting in Leesburg

Lake County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a white passenger car that was used in a shooting earlier this month.

Deputies aren’t sure of the make and model of the vehicle but it was seen in the early morning hours of Sept. 8 traveling on Westmont Road off of County Road 473 in the unincorporated area of Leesburg. The unidentified occupants of the vehicle fired a weapon at a residence several times before fleeing, a sheriff’s office report states.

Anyone with any information about the vehicle or the suspects is urged to contact Det. Adam Kelly at (352) 343-9500 or by email at adam.kelly@lcso.org. Anonymous tips can be made via the sheriff’s office’s mobile app or directly to Central Florida Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
