A Weirsdale woman was arrested after a search of her purse yielded meth during a traffic stop.
A deputy pulled over 36-year-old Holly Noelle Bush and a male passenger in a Ford truck at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. She stopped over the stop bar at the intersection of Veech and Whitney Roads in Leesburg, prompting the traffic stop on State Road 44.

Before handing over her ID, Bush reached into the backseat and grabbed a silver digital scale. She realized what she had given the deputy and became visibly flustered. Her hands and legs shook as she retrieved her ID from a phone wallet in a brown purse next to her, the report said.
Bush advised that she went past the stop bar because her truck’s brakes were extremely hard to press, ultimately admitting to the traffic infraction. She and the passenger denied there being anything illegal in the truck. A K-9 unit subsequently responded to the scene and positively alerted to the odor of narcotics, the report said.
A search of the vehicle yielded nothing until an officer reached into Bush’s purse. She stated she had a prescription bottle with her medicine inside it, which the officer indeed found. But there was also tin foil wrapped around methamphetamine, the report said.
Bush was arrested on charge of possession of methamphetamine and issued a written warning for the stop sign violation. She was booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $2,500.
