A Leesburg woman was arrested for burglary after allegedly shattering a window and crawling through it to get to the father of her child.
Officers responded to a burglary in progress at an undisclosed residence in Lady Lake around 8 p.m. Friday, July 3, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. An investigation determined that 23-year-old Jacoriah Angelique McCray, along with her 3-month-old baby in a carrier, showed up uninvited that day to ask for the father of the child.

McCray tried to shoulder her way through the front door, but the homeowner stopped her from behind the door. McCray proceeded to throw a large landscaping brick and numerous front-porch items through the front window. The broken window and damaged blinds were valued at $400, the report said.
McCray then came through the shattered window and threw things around the house. The homeowner sprayed “mace” into her face, causing her to retreat outside, the report said.
The officers on scene found McCray in hysterics from the “mace” in the front yard. EMS transported her to UF Health Leesburg Hospital, 600 E Dixie Ave., Leesburg. The front window was completely shattered, with numerous porch items inside the home, the report said.
Additionally, the officers learned McCray had been formally trespassed from the home on March 31, the report said.
After being cleared from the hospital, McCray was arrested on charges of burglary of occupied dwelling, criminal mischief, trespass after warning, and shooting or throwing deadly missiles into dwellings. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $18,500 bond.
