Evelyn Allen, born in Burnsville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026.
A graduate of Leesburg High School, Class of 1972, Evelyn will be remembered for her kind heart, adventurous spirit, and deep love for her family. She found great joy in gardening, nurturing the flowers and plants she loved, and she treasured every opportunity to travel and experience new places. Her faithful dog, Peanut, was a constant source of companionship and brought her immeasurable happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ruth Mclntosh.
Evelyn is survived by her devoted husband, John Allen; her loving daughter, Ashley Winter, and son-in-law, Brandon Winter; her son, Howard Silvers, and daughter-in-law, Karissa Silvers; her beloved granddaughter, Avigail; her sister, Sharon Mclntosh; her nephews, Jay and Brandon (Beanie); and her niece, Sydney. She also leaves behind extended family members and many dear friends who will cherish her memory
Evelyn’s warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the beauty she created through her gardens, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. Her family takes comfort in knowing that the memories they shared with her will remain in their hearts forever.
A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at Community United Methodist Church, Fruitland Park, Florida, on July 6th at 11:00 a.m.
